The Hoshino Resort TAMAMU, located on the island of Hokkaido in Japan, will soon open its Winter Ice Village.

The village is located about 150 miles from Sapporo, the capital of Japan’s northern island. The winter wonderland will open for a pre-grand opening on December 10. The official opening will happen on January 18 and will last until March.

Guests can opt for a day pass, which only comes at a price of 500 Yen or $5. If you want to spend a little more time around the village, you can also stay at nearby Tomamu The Tower or Risonare Tomamu.

The Ice Village will have something to do for every member of the family.

Kids will be able to experience winter magic tailor-made just for them. Activities range from playing with ice instruments, an ice bubble experience,  and even ice sculpting classes. They can take a ride on the property’s ice slide. It is said to be the most popular attraction in the village.

For the lovers, you can take a trip down the aisle in the ice chapel. Yes, it’s a wedding chapel made out of ice. The presence of the ice is said to represent “the unbreakable love between two pure souls which shall last forever.”

There is an option to stay overnight in an ice hotel. It will run you around $230 per night. Everything in the room is made from ice, except the bedding and covers. Included with your stay is breakfast, insulated sleeping bags and pajamas, an artic bath, and access to the ice lounge.

Other highlights on the property include an ice bar that features over 50 cocktails served in ice glasses, an outdoor ice skating rink, and an ice café with bookshelves made of ice too.

If you are headed to Japan in the near future, this is definitely something to add to your list.
