It’s a new year and a new decade, and if this time of year has you re-organizing your travel bucket list, here are some of the world’s best new restaurants to help inspire your choice of where to travel next.

Le chêne, South Africa

Darren Badenhorst’s newest venture is the fully renovated space at the Manor House on the exclusive Leeu Estates in Franschhoek, Le chêne. Enjoy sweeping panoramic views within the glass observatory dining room that offers a selection of two or three-course dining experiences with the option to add on various courses to create a full tasting menu experience. Utilizing only the finest local ingredients off the estate itself, the menu is a true testament to the diversity and beauty of the region.

Henrock, United Kingdom

A new, informally elegant restaurant by Simon Rogan, Henrock’s focus lies on beautiful local ingredients and an á la carte menu featuring small plates and sharing dishes that are influenced by techniques and produce discovered on the chef’s travels around the world.

EthioEritrea, New York

You’ll have to head upstate to enjoy Syracuse’s newest addition to the restaurant scene. EthioEritrea is owned by Ched Tesfahiwot Okube who spent seven years in an Ethiopian refugee camp, where he honed his cooking skills in a cafe. The menu offers a range of dishes found across the African region including soft sourdough injera, which is used to scoop meats, grains or vegetables from stews known as wot.

Hutong, Miami

Hutong Miami is where renowned and occasionally fiery Northern Chinese cuisine meets artisanal dim sum and exotic signature cocktails. According to the website, here, Chinese ‘yin’ meets Miami ‘yang’ –  100-year-old Chinese bricks mingle with vivid pop-art colors, smooth dark chocolate mousse rub shoulders with heady Sichuan peppercorn.

The Yard, Great Scotland Yard Hotel, London

GSY’s signature restaurant, The Yard, offers a slice of the countryside in the city under the guidance of critically acclaimed chef Robin Gill.
