An NYC experience isn’t complete until you hit up one of its many rooftops. Taking in the skyline from a rooftop is one of the best experiences in one of the greatest cities on earth.

Most people wait until summer to chill on rooftops in the Big Apple but there are great winter locations as well.

The president and CEO of NYC & Company, Fred Dixon, refers to an NYC rooftop as; “The pinnacle of NYC nightlife.”

He goes on to say, “The recent increase in elevated winter offerings by hotels and entertainment venues proves that demand is strong, even as the weather grows colder.”

If you’re visiting NYC this winter or a local looking for something to do, check out these great rooftops perfect for curing winter blues.

Westlight at The William Vale

The William Vale is one of the coolest spots in Brooklyn, offering stunning views of Manhattan.

This location is perfect for drinks and food. According to CNN Travel, the curried cauliflower dip is a must-try.

Pier 17

Located in the South Street Seaport area of Manhattan is this beautiful venue. Hit up Pier 17’s WinterLand to ice-skate with your loved ones. The rink offers live music with gorgeous views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline.

If you’re hungry, head to R17, a restaurant, and bar offering delicious drinks and food.

There are also warming huts on the premises where you can sit, enjoy food and drinks and take in the beauty of NYC.

The Mark Penthouse

You can feel like royalty at The Mark Penthouse, home to the largest hotel suite in the U.S, and also the location where Meghan Markle had her baby shower!

The penthouse is 12,000 square feet and houses five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, four fireplaces and exclusive views of Central Park.

Get your coins together because The Mark is offering an epic winter getaway including a private rooftop ice-skating rink!

Ophelia

This property was built in the 1920s and is located on the east side of Manhattan. Head to Ophelia this winter and you’ll be transported into a real-life snow globe.

Guests can sip on specially made cocktails while enjoying the enchanting views of the East River and Midtown.

For cheaper rates, head to Ophelia in January or February.

Chalet de Ning at The Peninsula

The Peninsula Hotel is already an iconic NYC hotel but they’ve gone a step further to secure their title.

Head to the west terrace of the rooftop bar and you’ll discover Salon de Ning — an oasis during freezing winter days. You can expect faux fur blankets, a faux fireplace and the urge to cuddle while enjoying life in NYC.

230 Fifth

This location can be super hard to get into because of its reputation as being one of the best rooftops in NYC.

There are 17 igloos, all of which are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The igloos can house up to 12 people and cost $60 per person.

If you aren’t able to secure an igloo, you’ll be given a robe and can warm up by the heating lamps.

Experiencing the Apple Pie Cider at 230 Fifth is a must — the drink is made with vodka, apple cider, whipped cream, and cinnamon!
