Why This Traveling Couple Carves Time For ‘Self’ On Vacation
By Parker Diakite
The saying goes that a picture is worth a thousand words but that wouldn’t be nearly enough to describe Jacinta’s travel experiences with her new fiancé, Jeffrey.
From Barbados to Greece, the two have managed to sneak in six countries during their two-year relationship. Country number seven is on the way this fall but the pair is still deciding where.
They’re serving all kind of #travelbae goals on Instagram, which is why Travel Noire reached out to hear more from this beautiful couple.
Travel Noire: What’s your favorite country so far and why?
J+J: Our favorite country so far would have to be Barbados, this is because of how well we were received by the Bajan people, the good vibes brought to us through soca music and the immense beauty the island offers. We even considered doing a destination wedding there because we fell in LOVE with the island!
TN: Tell our readers what’s the best part of traveling together?
J+J:Having somebody to make sure you have packed your passport and hold your hand when there is turbulence, ha!
On a more serious note, having someone to experience the world’s beauty with you in such an intimate way.
TN: What advice would you give traveling couples?
J+J: Try and take at least one moment out just for yourself on holiday. Of course you are traveling with your bae and it’s beautiful, but it’s also good to carve out some time for self-reflection and experience solitude whilst away from your day-to-day distractions. I find this helps me recharge in a different way and even miss him a little bit, which is quite nice and healthy for our relationship!
TN: Anything else you think our readers should know?
J+J: Jeffrey and I are both plant-based so we’ve had occasional challenges finding good vegan restaurants while away on our travels.
As the plant-based movement grows, however, it’s slowly become easier to locate vegan options. Barbados was quite easy for plant-based foods as ‘Ital is vital.’
