Tyler, The Creator Lands On American Airlines’ Terrorist List

Fans of Tyler, the Creator would say that he made bomb music but no one would have thought that it would have been enough to have landed him on a terrorist ‘no-fly’ list.

The Odd Future frontman, who is currently in the middle of his IGOR tour with Jaden Smith, Blood Orange, and Goldlink, took to Twitter to reveal that he’s been banned by American Airlines.

It appears this is the first he’s hearing of this and a brief Google search doesn’t return any previous history between Tyler and the airline.

However, American did reach out to the rapper on Twitter to get more information.

The No Fly List is a list created and maintained by the U.S. federal government’s Terrorist Screening Center. A terrorist ‘no-fly list’ is not controlled by any airline specifically. That is very different from an airline-specific “passenger ban” that you can be placed on for things such as fighting, disturbing the peace, or other misbehavior.

American Airlines tells NME, “American does not have a terrorist watch list. That list is controlled by the FBI. But since Tyler, The Creator, is flying with us today and is currently on one of our flights, the tweet is not accurate.”

So, did Tyler, The Creator make up this entire scenario for clout or was this all one big misunderstanding? I guess we’ll find out when the IGOR tour hits Orlando on September 27th.
