Loyalty gets you far in the world of travel reward programs. Stay true to specific hotels and airlines and they will certainly reciprocate the love.

How do you know which programs are worth the commitment?

U.S. News & World Report released a list this week of the top hotel rewards and airline frequent flier programs in the U.S.

The determining factors for their rankings were based on the ease to earn and redeem points-based flights and accommodations as well as the best member perks.

Marriott’s huge Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program came in on top for the best hotel rewards program. Marriott Bonvoy launched this year in February and combined Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and Ritz-Carlton Rewards into one massive program.

The program received the top spot ranking because of its large network of hotels, member benefits and the high value of redeeming Marriott Bonvoy loyalty points, according to U.S. News.

The second covetable spot went to Wyndham Rewards because its members receive free nights more quickly and easily than with other hotel loyalty programs.

Coming in third place is World of Hyatt because of it’s lower points redemption requirements compared to other programs.

As far as airline programs go, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan came in on top for the fifth consecutive year.
