If you live in any of these areas or are planning on visiting this summer, be sure to grab the whole family for some decadent ice cream indulgence.

Cool Moon Ice Cream, Portland, OR

Another example of the importance of fresh, local ingredients. From rosewater infused Kulfi to sprinkle-icious Birthday Cake, this shop sources its renowned flavors from orchards 20 miles away.

Bi-Rite Creamery, San Francisco, CA

Every flavor in this colorful shop is made from scratch including the marshmallows for Rocky Road. Their certified-organic dairy ingredients make every flavor an excellent choice.

Fat Cat Creamery, Houston, TX

Fat Cat’s ingredients are sourced from nearby Barry Farms and made in small batches daily. Each flavor is made with the basics: whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, egg yolks, and only the finest flavorings for old fashioned goodness.

Amy’s Ice Cream, Austin, TX

With a team of “scoop-throwing” employees serving over 300 flavors, this iconic ice cream spot is a local favorite. Be sure to taste their most popular flavor Shiner Bock, made with the Texan beer of the same name.

Margie’s Candies, Chicago, IL

This is not just an ice cream shop. Margie’s is a hometown staple that started in 1921 and now offers sandwiches and banana splits along with their famous ice cream flavors that are to die for.

Blue Marble, Brooklyn, NY

Blue Marble is the creation of two best friends with a passion for ice cream. All of the ingredients are certified organic, from the milk to the fruit blended into some of their most popular flavors.

Ice Cream Jubilee, Washington D.C.

Owner Victoria Lai was a former member of the Department of Homeland Security, but we are sure glad she made a career change. With fresh local ingredients and a temping menu of flavors, Ice Cream Jubilee’s inspiration comes from international travels, decadent cocktails, and Victoria’s childhood as a Chinese girl living in Texas.

Toscanini’s, Cambridge, MA

Be ready to splurge with Toscanini’s super-decadent flavors like B3 with brown butter, brown sugar, and chunks of fudge brownie. You could get a cavity just looking at it.

The Creole Creamery, New Orleans, LA

Their motto is, “eat ice cream, be happy.” I don’t think we can disagree. And with other 50 current and seasonal flavors, The Creole Creamery will make everybody happy.
