You work, you parent, you sleep, you repeat. Sometimes it can feel like a hamster wheel that has you stuck on auto-pilot. Travel in itself has many benefits, but a solo trip without the demands of motherhood and work could be the reset that you desperately need.

Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

We’ve heard it a million times but there’s a reason for that – it’s true. Although you love your children more than the air you breathe, time away from them is not only important but necessary. Self-Care

No, it’s not selfish to book that solo trip without a second thought. Having little beings who constantly rely on you for, well, everything, can be emotionally and physically draining. A few days by yourself to focus on your needs is not selfish. It is essential for survival. Solo travel is a form of self-care because you are putting yourself first and focusing on what you need. Book the spa treatment, eat the cake, drink the wine in bed while watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta uninterrupted, and enjoy every glorious minute.

Independence & Freedom

When’s the last time you had the freedom to see a movie on a whim or take yourself to dinner without having to inquire if it’s “family friendly”. A great sense of independence and freedom is often lost in parenthood and with the added stress of a full-time job, it’s almost non-existent. Take it back. Even if it’s just for a few days.
