Flights to Europe Under $400 This September

There’s so much emphasis to travel during the summer that people tend to forget an underrated travel month: September.

Sure, it could be the fact that it’s the unofficial end to summer, or a reminder that your schedule is about to get hectic again, but it’s one of the cheapest times to mark something off your bucket list. What’s great about travel in September is the weather isn’t flaky—no winter pun intended—just yet. There’s still time to enjoy the sun, enjoy the outdoors, and possibly avoid overcrowding.

Using a new tool on Google Flights that calculates and analyze flight prices, September is a great month to explore. Type in your departing airport and leave the destination blank.  If you have some flexibility, let Google Flights find you a trip within the month of September, or type in your specific dates.

Here are some round-trip flights we found under $400:

From Chicago

Chicago offers some of the cheapest options and multiple locations. The cheapest flight found was to Reykjavik nonstop for $199 round-trip.

Other options include Barcelona for $320 round-trip and Dublin for $340 round-trip.

From Los Angeles

There’s a flight to Paris for $390 round-trip in the mid-September.

For a few dollars more, head to Barcelona for $430 round-trip. These flight prices, according to Google Flights are $250 cheaper than normal.

From Miami

A total price of $347 will have you in Brussels from Miami.

If you have some money to spare, head to Paris or Madrid for less than $500 round-trip.

From New York

Like Chicago, there are many options from New York.

We found trips to Brussels, Edinburgh, and Reykjavik for less than $400 round-trip.

From San Francisco

Trips to Europe from San Francisco can run upwards $1,000. Go to Paris for $360 round-trip, or Amsterdam for $390 round-trip.

From Washington D.C. Area

The options are endless from Washington D.C.  Look at the toggle map below.

A flight to Paris is $340 round-trip; Reykjavik is $200 round-trip; and Stockholm is $380 round-trip.
