‘Quit Your Job’ Campaign Promises All-Expenses-Paid Trip Of A Lifetime
By Leah Freeman-Haskin
Ever dreamed of quitting your job and traveling around the world? Maybe you’ve even rehearsed your dramatic last-day monologue to your boss or have already mapped out your global takeover.
If you could quit your job tomorrow and travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? The answer to this question could be the only thing standing in your way.
“We truly believe that travel changes you,” said Eagle Creek’s president Roger Spatz in a statement. “You always come back different. We want to inspire more people to break their routine, maybe take a short leave from their job and get out of town. Not everyone can quit — and we know that — but everyone can explore the world around them a little more, and maybe even make the world a better place.”
The Quit Your Job campaign kicked off last week in Austin, Texas and will continue to tour the country through July. Eagle Creek “travel experts” will be interviewing candidates and asking them questions about where and why they want to travel. The 5 most convincing and ambitious arguments win.
Don’t let the campaign name fool you, it is not a requirement to actually quit your job — it just sounds cool. All you need is tw consecutive weeks of leave from your employer to qualify. Once selected, the five participants will have 6 to 8 weeks to pack before departing for the destination of their choice.
The next audition stop is Louisville, Kentucky on 2 May, followed by New York City on 18 May; Chicago, Illinois on 8 June; Portland, Oregon on 13 July and San Francisco, California on 27 July. To find out more information, check out the Eagle Creek Quit Your Job campaign.
