Qatar Airways New Business Class QSuites Will Debut In Los Angeles
By Sharelle Burt
It looks like the new business class suites from Qatar Airways are making a Los Angeles debut.
The business class suites, called QSuites, made a grand entrance last year just three months after the official announcement. With a rather complex layout, it was hard to find planes to put them on, which meant only certain routes were able to accommodate. It took some string-pulling, but a route to LAX was able to make the cut. Starting on February 2, 2019, flights between Los Angeles and Doha, Qatar will be servicing QSuites regularly, with the exception of February 3rd and 5th.
This is exciting news for Los Angeles for a few reasons. The flight time between LAX and Doha is 15 hours and 50 minutes, while Doha to LA is just over 16 hours. Also, LAX is home to American Airlines, a Oneworld alliance partner of Qatar Airways, so passengers can access the new suites when they go through Terminal 4, also known as Tom Bradley International Terminal.
So what’s so special about these QSuites? There has to be something magical since booking just a one-way ticket between LAX and Doha in a QSuite goes for $8,463. The suite gives passengers mood lighting, fully lie-flat beds, and generous storage space, creating a new standard in comfort. There are a total of 42 business-class seats on the plane with the seating being rather unique. The seats are paired with rear and forward-facing center seats that can be connected by sliding the in-flight entertainment displays to the side, making it easier to have family time or to have a meeting with colleagues that are with you.
Not only do you leave the flight rested, but you leave with something more than a soda in a small plastic cup and a bag of dry roasted peanuts. Each business-class passenger receives a hard-cover kit with Castello Monte Vibiano products plus an eye mask, earplugs and socks. If that’s not enough, toothbrushes and razors are available in the bathrooms. Sounds like a home away from home.
This new LAX route joins an exclusive group of other QSuite routes including flights between Doha and Houston (IAH), Chicago (ORD), New York City (JFK) and Washington DC (IAD).
