Sometimes, the off-season is an ideal time to travel. With lower flight and hotel prices, it’s an affordable option over the pricier high seasons. You will also tend to find smaller crowds and lines at popular attractions. If you are looking to get away this fall, here are some great off-season options.

New Orleans, LA

Fall is a great time to stroll the historic streets of New Orleans. Cooler temperatures often mean smaller crowds as you explore the marvelous parks and renowned restaurants. As it gets closer to winter, expect much colder temperatures and be sure to pack accordingly.

Cape Cod, MA

Visiting the Cape in the fall is extremely satisfying. Hiking, biking and exploring the nearly empty beaches allow for quiet moments in nature. You also don’t have to endure long wait times to dine at the most popular restaurants and taste the local catch of the day.

Costa Rica

The off-season or rainy season in Costa Rica is usually from around June to November. This is an incredible time to visit the Central American country. Ample rain means lush, green forests and magnificent waterfalls that are often much drier and dustier during their summer, and more popular, months.

Bali, Indonesia

Any chance you get to visit Bali is a good one, no matter what time of year. The months of June and August are often the most crowded, making the fall an excellent time to visit. You can find the lowest travel prices of the year between September and October when everything turns green in this idyllic paradise.

If you enjoy surfing, Fall is a great time to visit Byron Bay in Australia. Though this area is popular all year, fall is a time when the weather is ideal, the prices are lower, and there are tons of things to do.
