Naked Man Tries To Board Flight, Says Clothes Make Him Less ‘Aerodynamic’

A man attempting to board a flight in Moscow reportedly stripped off all of his clothes before arriving at the boarding gate.

The man passed through the Ural Airlines flight’s registration before suddenly stripping off his clothes and running stark naked onto the jet bridge, eyewitnesses said.

“He shouted that he was naked because clothing impairs the aerodynamics of the body. He flies with more agility when undressed,” according to REN TV, which quoted a passenger.

According to the Moscow Times, the man was stopped before boarding the flight, which was headed to Crimea. Footage obtained by state-owned RT shows a man queuing in line before the flight and later shows him in handcuffs.

“After the police had detained the offender, he was taken to the airport’s medical room and then was hospitalized in a medical facility,” the Interior Ministry’s press office told the Moscow Times. “The offender is a native of Yakutsk but lives in the Moscow region.”

This isn’t the first naked man to bare it all on public transportation in Russia.

A video of a naked man crawling through a subway station in Moscow went viral in 2018. The man was reportedly under the influence, the Moscow Times reported, and was admitted to a hospital.
And in the United States, a naked man was detained by police on March 26 for walking on the tarmac, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Police told the Sun-Times that the man appeared to be having a mental-health crisis. It’s unclear how the man got on the tarmac. Video of the incident was posted to Twitter.
