Milwaukee’s Airport Is The First To Offer Coat Check To Travelers Flying Somewhere Warm This Winter
By Kelsey Marie
I think we’ve all experienced traveling to a warm location during the winter and having the struggle of traveling with our bulky winter coats. Sure, it’s great staying warm at the airport but once you land in the hot country, having to carry the coat becomes a hassle.
Fortunately, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport has come up with a great solution for their passengers. They’re allowing you to leave your coat with them.
The airport gave a statement Thursday saying, “Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is proud to announce the debut of a new coat check service.”
They went on to say, “The new amenity is sure to be a hit with travelers heading to warm weather destinations.”
Harold Mester, the spokesman of the Milwaukee airport said passengers had been requesting a place to put their coats at the airport’s information desk.
He tells USA Today that the airport is ready to take anywhere from 100 to thousands of coats, as long as people drop them off.
The upcoming spring break season will be the busiest time for the airport and they are expected to see about 24,000 passengers a day.
The Milwaukee airport director Brian Dranzik said in a statement: “We believe we’re the only major airport in the nation to offer coat check services, and it’s a great fit during our harsh winters. Heavy winter coats can take up a lot of space [in overhead bins and suitcases].”
If you’re arriving at the International Arrivals Terminals, you’ll just need to head to the Main Terminal to receive your coat.
There will be a cost for this service at $2 per day and a maximum amount of $10.
