One of the oldest and largest cities in North America, Mexico City rose from the ancient Aztec city of Tenochtitlan. No matter what experience you are looking for, you’ll find it in this culturally rich city.

Bosque de Chapultepec

Bosque de Chapultepec is literally a 1,600-acre oasis of culture and beauty, featuring a botanical garden, as well as several historical sites and museums. Chapultepec Castle houses the National History Museum. While you are visiting the Bosque de Chapultepec, you may also want to stop by the National Museum of Anthropology.

Templo Mayor

Many people visit Mexico City to explore the ancient Aztec ruins. If you are interested in history, you won’t want to miss Templo Mayor. These amazing ruins are what remain of the capital of Tenochtitlan and its amazing city center. Visitors can view temples, pyramids, and ceremonial platforms. Zoologico it is one of the largest zoos in the world and features a primate exhibit that includes adult orangutan and a family of Chimpanzees. Zoologico Zacango also has a big cat zone with cats from all over the world, including Asia and the Americas. Of course, no zoo would be complete without those amazing animals from Africa such as zebras, elephants, and rhinos. With so many animals to see, a trip to Zoologico Zacango is likely to take up an entire day of your vacation.

You’ll want to go shopping to complete your Mexico City experience. One of the best places in the city to shop is the Ciudadela, a street market featuring over 200 merchandise and food stalls.
