Las Vegas on A Budget: How Far Will $600 Get You?

Meek Mill’s recent encounter with a luxury hotel in Vegas isn’t stopping visitors from traveling to Sin City. Between the nightlife, casinos, and the rise of the Cannabis industry, Las Vegas has a lot to offer its millions of tourists year round. Free shows daily and lots of live entertainment and performances can all be found right on the strip.

But if you’re on a budget, can you still enjoy all Vegas has to offer? Let’s see just how far will $600 get you for a weekend getaway.

Although it’s impossible to see the entire city in a day, it’s very possible to have fun and not break the bank for an entire weekend. Ex. You just have to expand your mind and instead of frequenting the clubs and casinos, indulge in tons of free or low-cost activities.

Hotels or Airbnbs won’t be a problem, with prices as low $69/night, like this chic luxury suite on the Vegas strip At MGM. You get all the same amenities of the resort, without the extra resort fees and it’s close to the Monorail train station, an alternative to buses, taxis or rental cars.

It gets pretty hot in Vegas, so instead of hitting the bar, stock up on water, Gatorade, and other drinks at a local Walmart or grocery store. It beats having to pay $5 for a water bottle you’ll more than likely throw away before you’re done.

After the reports of several Americans dying in the Dominican Republic, travelers are second guessing opening up the mini-fridge or stopping at the hotel/resort bar.  Buy your own alcohol and pregame at the hotel. It’s safer and cheaper on the pockets.

Pop into the Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes for that one signature item to complete your outfit while taking in the live free entertainment show. The Stratosphere features costumed performers, singers, jugglers, you name it. There are also a few sports bars to get bomb food for $10 within walking distance. For $80 bucks, you can hike Red Rock Canyon with their annual pass,  which accommodates a vehicle fee and up to 4 adults.

If you’re up for it, fly like a super hero 11 stories high over Vegas’ long city blocks for $40.

A minor league baseball game at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin will run you up to $40, depending on where you sit. This season the Aviators are offering $2 beer night specials.

Embark on a chocolate experience like no other with a wide selection of tasty happiness at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Their replica sculpture of the Statue of Liberty is made of 800 lbs. of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate. You can even make your own delicious chocolate bar and taste six flavors of their Jolly Rancher Wall. Admission and the Chocolate Tour is free, however, similar attractions may cost you no more than $25.

Costco offers an ePass that lets you visit four of the city’s hottest attractions, a show at the famous V Theater,  Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, the Shark Aquarium, and a 30 min spin on one of the most famous Ferris wheels for a 360 view of the city. All for just $82.

Vegas has the buffet of all buffets offering a 24-hour pass to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day, as many times as you like within the 24-hour timeframe. Weekday passes are $69.99 and weekend passes are $79.99. This pass can be used at six restaurants including Caesar’s Palace, Flamingo, and Planet Hollywood. The Blue Martini is a popular spot for live entertainment, food and happy hour specials with $6 cocktails and beers.

So far we’ve only spent $538, and you’ve completely entertained yourself for the weekend.
