If You Dreamed Of Dining Nude In Paris, It May Be Too Late

After only a year and some change in business, Paris’ first nude restaurant will be closing its doors. It seemed that travelers and locals would be ready to bare it all while dining on French cuisine, but that just wasn’t the case.

The owners of O’Naturel released the following statement on their website:

“It is with great regret that we announce the definitive closing of the O’Naturel restaurant on Saturday, February 16, 2019,” 42-year-old twins Mike and Stephane Saada announced.
“Thank you for having participated in this adventure by coming to dine at O’Naturel. We will only remember the good times, meeting beautiful people and customers who were delighted to share exceptional moments.”
According to The Local, the restaurant wasn’t bringing in the business that was projected. Despite being well received initially, they just couldn’t “bare” the lack of customers.
O’Naturel is currently located on a side street in the southwest part of the city. The motto: ‘leave your coats, your pants, and your inhibitions at the door.’ Dinner guests had the option to go full birthday suit or to keep their goods covered as much as they wanted. They were asked to leave clothes, cell phones, and cameras in a changing room before entering the dining area.
Teenagers were even allowed to attend, fully clothed and with an adult of course. White curtains covered the windows to protect patrons from the people outside and vice versa. To keep things sanitary, the restaurant provided chair covers that were changed between each meal setting.
The menu consisted of a three-course meal with foie gras, lobster, snails, lamb or scallops for right around $58 per person. The only rules were that guests could not get “inappropriate” during the meal and to be respectful of others in attendance.
If you are heading to Paris soon, you still have a little time to experience this unique dinner setting. The owners are encouraging people to come in while they still can.
