Idris Elba is the latest celebrity to test positive for the COVID-19 virus, according to a post on social media.

On Monday morning, Idris and his wife Sabrina Dhowre Elba took to Twitter to reveal his diagnosis. In a video, the 47-year-old British actor says that he was exposed to someone who tested positive for the virus last Friday. Despite his positive diagnosis, Idris says he is not experiencing any symptoms so far but is isolating himself anyway.

“This is serious, now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands, and beyond that, there are people out there who are not showing symptoms and can easily spread it. So now is a good time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance,” the actor said in his video.

Idris also goes on to say that his wife has not yet been tested and that both he and his wife have notified their friends and family about his coronavirus diagnosis.

“Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic,” he tweeted to fans.
