Hilton wants to change how you hostel.

Hilton CEO Christopher Nassetta, recently revealed the hotel chain’s plans for 2018, which includes the launch of up to four new brands, global plans to debut smart rooms and a restructuring to how the hotel brand prices its rooms.

For its new hotel concepts, Hilton plans to roll out Hilton Plus, a five-star brand poised to be a step up from the current Hilton brand, two additional luxury concepts and an urban micro hotel Nassetta dubbed a “hostel on steroids.”

The brand’s smart room concept, which Nassetta describes as “the first truly mobile-centric hotel room,” is expected to be a global rollout, with guests controlling features like lighting, in-room entertainment and room temperature via a mobile app.

Hilton also plans to experiment with its pricing structure and cancellation policy, with customers paying more or less depending on when and how they book their room.

Official launch dates for the upcoming properties, smart rooms and new pricing structure have yet to be announced, but Hilton is clearly on a mission to change how guests experience their brand.
