Los Angeles sets itself apart as one of the best cities for keeping a buzzing summer social life. Home to the movie-making capital of Hollywood, the city loves to show off its cinematic accomplishments with outdoor screenings that take place everywhere from landmark cemeteries to rooftop bars and parks. Many encourage you to bring your own picnic supplies, making for a perfect evening date.

This summer’s lineup features an abundance of Black Hollywood classics, including several John Singleton movies if you’re in the mood to memorialize the recently passed director. Other standouts include Jordan Peele’s latest horror Us, Set it Off with a fed up Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Vivica A. Fox, and Spike Lee’s joint Do The Right Thing. Check out the full list below and start assembling your summer squad.
