West Coast, you don’t want to miss this amazing deal. American Airlines dropped prices on its routes from LAX to Havana, Cuba. The lowest price found was $256 roundtrip.

These low price routes will come with a layover each way, likely in Miami. If you want to step out of the airport to kill time for a few, an Uber ride to the Wynwood Walls area is an option. Snap a few photos and grab some food before heading to your next stop.

This deal is available for travel between December and January. Before you head to Cuba, you should read up on the rules and required travel exceptions for Americans. You can find the latest information via travel.state.gov.

To find and purchase this deal, you can use Google Flights. Once you scroll over to the December and January calendars, the lowest options available at the time will populate in green. Click the date combo that is best for you and follow the suggested link to purchase.

As you prepare for your trip, keep in mind that U.S. debit and credit cards do not typically work in Cuba. It is best to take cash and then convert it to local currency. Also, keep in mind that Cuba has a dual currency system. You will need to research both because they are both used throughout the area.

In addition to these points, WiFi is not easily accessible all around Cuba. You can purchase a WiFi card at local communications stores that will give you a specific amount of time to access the internet. Once you purchase this card, you will then need to connect in an area where WiFi is actually available. This is usually in hotels or in designated hotspot areas around Havana.
