Flight Deal: West Coast To Kauai, Hawaii For $290 Round-Trip

Known as the “Garden Island” because of how it is draped in natural beauty, Kauai is Hawaii’s fourth largest and oldest island.

From its tropical rainforests, breathtaking waterfalls, and daring cliffs,  Kauai’s beauty comes with a variety of outdoor activities.

During your stay, you can kayak the Wailua River, snorkel on Poipu Beach, or go ziplining above Kauai’s valleys.

At the top of your must-see-list should be a trip to Wailua Falls. Tucked behind the Kalepa Mountain Forest Reserve in Hanamā‘ulu, Wailua Falls is a 173-foot waterfall located near Lihue that feeds into the Wailua River. Legend has it that this enchanting waterfall was where Hawaiian men would test their endurance by jumping 80-feet into the shallow 30-foot pool below, as reported in Hawaii.com

Following your trip to Wailua Falls, be sure to hunt for treasure at Glass Beach that is made of sea glass.

Sea glass consists of bottles, flasks, windshields, and windows that have been broken up and smoothened by moving ocean water and time. It takes the ocean anywhere from 10 to 30 years to create the frosted, jellybean-like pebble.

Here’s how to get to Kauai for less than $400 round-trip:

From Portland

Hawaiian Airlines has round-trip flights for $299, according to Google Flights.  United Airlines has a shorter flight option for $308 round-trip.

Plug in Feb. 21 through Feb. 28 as your travel dates for the cheapest price option.

From San Francisco

There are a few flight options from San Francisco on Hawaiian, Delta, and American Airlines.  The cheapest option is on Hawaiian priced at $305 round-trip from Feb. 21  through Feb. 28.

From Seattle

Like San Francisco, there are various options departing from Seattle. Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Delta all have round-trip options priced below $400 round-trip. While Hawaiian is cheaper at $355 round-trip, Alaska Air has a nonstop option for $363 round-trip, according to Google Flights.  Use Feb. 21 through Feb. 28 in as your travel dates.
