A great winter escape is always needed, especially if you live in a place that gets super cold. Chicago, you’re in luck. American Airlines just dropped prices on its nonstop flights from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The lowest price found is only $109 roundtrip.

This deal is available for travel throughout the month of January. To find your deal, head to Google Flights and click through to January. Look out for the dates to pop up in green, as these are the lowest prices available at the time of your search.

Many of the major airlines introduced their basic economy fares a few years ago. This fare allows for more passengers to travel at lower prices. However, there are some rules that will apply to this particular fare. They are as follows:

  • You are limited to one carry-one bag and one personal item that will fit under your seat.
  • You cannot select your seat prior to travel. A seat will be randomly assigned to you the day that you fly.
  • You cannot change or upgrade this ticket once it is confirmed.

Other than this, you will still receive the same amenities that passengers in general economy receive.

Fort Lauderdale is only a short car or bus ride into Miami. If you are looking to stay away from the crowds of South Beach, while still enjoying a beautiful beach city this is where you want to stay.

Because this city is not as popular as Miami or South Beach, you will find that hotels and restaurants aren’t as pricey. This is great for the budget traveler or even a solo traveler.

You may want to hurry and lock in your seat before this price increases. You can’t beat a roundtrip flight to anywhere for only $109.
