Flight Deal: Fly From L.A. To The Maldives For Only $480
By DeAnna Taylor
You can always count on Travel Noire to bring you some of the best flight deals around. This latest one is pretty dope. You can fly to the amazingly gorgeous Maldives for as low as $480 roundtrip from LAX on China Eastern.
The only catch is that you’ll have a pretty long layover in Shanghai, China coming and going. But when life hands you lemons simply make lemonade. Instead of sitting around the airport, venture out and explore Shanghai.
Since your layover is less than 72 hours, you won’t have to worry about applying for a visa while in China. This saves you over $100 and gives you a 2-for-1 deal without having to think about it. So essentially you’ll visit Shanghai and The Maldives during this trip.
This deal is valid for travel between early September and late November. To find your flight, head to a travel search site such as Momondo. Simply plug in your departure and arrival city and let the search engine do its magic.
Luckily, Momondo will allow you to play around dates by clicking through date ranges pretty easily to truly find the lowest price. We used an example date of 11/12 – 11/22 to find this price. The date ranges span from 9 days to 21 days.
The Maldives is actually made up of more than 2,000 tiny islands in the Indian Ocean. When you look at blogs and websites, they simply market the private islands where the overwater villas are.
Those resorts are super expensive and will run you at least $400 per night just for a regular room. The overwater villas will run you twice that.
Another thing to keep in mind with the private islands is that you will need to catch a speedboat to transport you from Male, where the airport is located, to your resort. The speed boats can range from $75 one-way per person to more than $100 one-way per person.
If you want to save a little money and still experience the luxury of the Maldives, then read this guide that we put together.
Either way, grab your seat before it’s too late.
