Error fare alert!

An error fare from New York’s JFK airport to Kenya’s Eldoret airport for only $376 roundtrip was just posted. It appears that this is a fuel dump fare.

If you decide to purchase the flight, be sure to wait until your ticket is confirmed before you make any additional plans for the trip. If the airline chooses not to recognize the error fare, you are typically refunded.

You can read our guide on error fare’s here.

This error fare is valid for travel between late March until early June. The flight does have a short layover in Nairobi each way. It is then a short 50-minute flight to Eldoret.

Eldoret is a principal city in western Kenya and the fifth largest in the country. It is approximately a 2 hour and 45-minute drive to Kisumu, Kenya.

If you are looking for one of the best areas for safaris, then Kisumu is where you want to go. Kisumu is a Kenyan port city on Lake Victoria. It’s known for lakeside viewpoints at Dunga Hill Camp and Hippo Point. The Kisumu Impala Sanctuary shelters herds of impalas and zebras. Its animal orphanage is home to wildlife like cheetahs and baboons.

If you decide to make the trip to Nairobi, there is also plenty to do there. From visiting the Nairobi National Museum to getting up close and personal with elephants at the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

If you want to splurge just a little, then book a stay at Giraffe Manor. There you will be able to snag one of those cool photo ops while having breakfast with a giraffe peeking through the window at your table.
