Dream Job Alert: Get Paid To Travel And Find New Colors For Behr Paint
By Leah Freeman-Haskin
If color and adventure are your things and you can discern the nuances between beige and eggshell, then Behr Paint is looking for you. This summer, the paint company is hiring a “Color Explorer” to travel across the U.S. and Canada looking for inspiration to create new Behr Paint colors.
“People are fascinated by the paint color-naming process. It requires a lot of time and creativity because each name tells a microstory about the specific shade,” Erika Woelfel, Vice President of Color and Creative Services at Behr Paint, said in a statement. “Our color experts travel the globe tracking down emerging color trends, and we’re excited to give our Behr Color Explorer a glimpse into this process by sending them on a search for new, dynamic hues to add to Behr Paint’s color collection.”
With $10,000 in hand and all of your travel expenses covered, you will be expected to capture notes and photos of your journey, share your experiences on social media and the Colorfully BEHR blog, and use your findings to create and name new, beautiful Behr paint colors.
According to Behr’s website, “the Color Explorer will kayak the glacial blues of Lake Louise in Banff, join the crowd at a vibrant music festival, take in the bold exteriors of Charleston’s Rainbow Row, and experience many more moments of positively pigmented wanderlust in between.”
To apply, all you have to do is submit your name, where you’re from, and what color inspires you most and why in 150 words or less. All applicants must love color, have a valid passport, and be at least 21 years old and a resident of the U.S. or Canada. Not bad for a shot at a summer experience of a lifetime.
