The Best Time To Visit Bali & Find The Cheapest Travel Deals
By Leah Freeman-Haskin
With year-round temperatures hovering between 70 and 80 degrees, there isn’t a bad time to visit Bali. However, if you are looking to snag a good travel deal, you may want to consider a few things.
Bali has a wet season and a dry season. May through September are the dry months, bringing the largest crowds and the highest prices. If you are looking for a bargain, the time to go is during the wet months, October through April. During this time, you can expect grayer skies and passing storms that last a few hours to a few days depending on the time of year.
Although these months may not be ideal for basking on the beach all day, the damp weather creates the greenest landscapes across the island. Rice terraces, temples on lakes, and lush jungles will be at their height of natural beauty.
Not only will flights be cheaper this time of year, but you will also be able to grab a great deal on your hotel. It’s important to keep in mind that heavy rains cause road flooding and delays, so be sure to book a hotel that is conveniently located within walking distance to amenities.
If the beach is your main reason for heading to the island nation, don’t get too discouraged about traveling during the rainy season. Often showers are heaviest in the afternoon and clear by early evening for a few hours on the beach and just in time to watch a perfectly clear sunset over the ocean.

Although most of Bali’s festivals happen during the dry season, there are two during the wet months that are worth checking out. During March, you can enjoy the Bali Spirit Festival, offering wellness and yoga workshops, health food displays, music, dancing, and poetry. Nyepi – the Saka New Year – is celebrated as a day of silence that stands in stark contrast to the island’s usual bustling atmosphere. Travel and work are forbidden, and all Balinese stay inside their own home compound, leaving the streets desolate.
The price of flights and hotels will vary depending on when you book your travel, so be sure to book early to catch the best deals.
