Solo travel has become extremely popular over the last few years. Travelers are packing a bag and catching flights, not feelings. Need an idea of where to take your next solo vacation? Check out these travel destinations, perfect for solo travel in 2019.

Paris

Paris is a melting pot of cultural diversity when it comes to its people, food and views. Take an authentic tour of black Paris with Le Paris Noir.

New Orleans

New Orleans is one of those places where it’s ok to travel by yourself, with the friendly locals eating beignets, going on swamp tours, and drinking Hurricanes.

Melbourne, Australia

Black culture is more present than ever in Melbourne, home to many black immigrants and African culture. Between the murals of black icons, African food and the biggest African culture festival in Australia.

Rio de Janiero

One of the world’s happiest cities has some of the most beautiful beaches and mountains, not to mention their unique boutique hotels and its other hidden gems.

Zürich, Switzerland

In the winter, Zürich is a sight to see with its Romanesque-style buildings and timeworn cobblestone streets. If you’re traveling there during the holidays, check out their Christmas markets for lots of food and fun.

Costa Rica

Love nature and hiking through rainforests and mountains? Explore this green oasis of relaxation and peace. A new luxury hotel in Costa Rica was recently built to get travelers in touch with their adventurous side.

Iceland

I’ve never swum in visibly smoking blue water such as this, but I can only imagine its beauty is beyond remarkable. The Blue Lagoon also has a spa, perfect for relaxation.

Amsterdam

The capital of the Netherlands has “good food, no bullshit.” No, seriously they do, including acai bowls, and Surinamese inspired dishes.

Montreal, Canada

Eat like a local and try a bowl of Poutine and some red wine from any Canadian bistro. It tastes much better than it looks, trust.

Santorini, Greece

Who would have thought it’d be possible to go to Greece on a budget. There’s plenty to do in this beautiful blue and white city.

The Virgin Islands

For $135, I’d definitely book a trip to the Caribbean for a few days. I’d go just to go snorkeling and scuba diving in the water.

Bali

Bali should definitely be on everyone’s bucket list, especially for solo travelers. Take a calming yoga class while overlooking the Indian Ocean or visit one of Bali’s many temples with various meanings.

The Maldives

This destination is perfect for honeymooners and couples looking for romance on an island in an underwater villa, the world’s first.

Singapore

If you’re an adventurous, art-loving traveler seeking experiences with monkeys near the city’s oldest reservoir, this is the place for you. If you haven’t cuddled with a monkey, there’s a first time for everything.

Vietnam

Small cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have seen a boost in tourism rates by over 212%. Some of that boost stems from their newest attraction near Danang City, the “hands of God.”
