Best Places To Spend New Year’s Eve Around The World
By DeAnna Taylor
A new year is upon us. No matter where you are in the world, you can bring in your new year in style. Check out this list of the best places to spend NYE around the world.
Las Vegas, Nevada: If you are looking for the ultimate turn up within the United States, this is the place to be. “Sin City” brings its ‘A’ game for the NYE festivities with some of the most over-the-top celebrity hosted parties you will find. This year a highlight will be the Bruno Mars concert followed by the party of the year hosted by Gucci Mane at Tao.
New York City: When you think about NYE in America, the first thing you think about is NYE in Times Square. For decades we have watched the ball drop to ring in a new year. If you plan to see it in person, be ready to get there and early and experience a crowd like no other.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: A trip to Rio is always a great idea, but nothing beats Rio to bring in a new year. Copacabana beach is the place to be, along with around 2 million other people looking to celebrate the coming of another 365 days. Many locals like to also wear white during the celebrations. This is based on an African ritual, as white signifies peace.
Berlin, Germany: While this may not be as known to Americans, Berlin has a reputation for being a party city. The city has adopted a “go-big or go-home” approach to NYE. The best place to go is “party mile” which is a nearly 2 mile strip filled with bars, music stages, food stalls, and party tents with laser light shows. Just like most cities, the New Year is brought in with a fireworks display.
Cape Town, South Africa: The V&A Waterfront is the place to be for the celebration in Cape Town. The area is filled with restaurants, bars, and pop-up performances. This year, the theme for the celebration is “mother earth.” The festivities will kick off with a parade followed by entertainment that will last up until the countdown begins.
Bangkok, Thailand: If you want to experience open-air parties this is the place to be. The main celebration kicks off around 6:30pm and goes all night into the morning. Party goers can expect fireworks, concerts, and pyro artworks.
Sydney, Australia: This is a no-brainer. The perfect spot to catch the fireworks will be from the Sydney Harbor. There will be tons of parties also kicking off around the city throughout the night.
