The holiday season is upon us with Thanksgiving being first on the agenda. Many of us will be traveling to different cities and states during this time to be with our loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal, or three. Traveling during this time can be quite hectic with traffic, delays, etc.

Fortunately, Google has released insights on what the best and worst times for travel are this holiday season. The insights are based on data generated by Google Maps last year.

According to their insights, the worst time to travel by road is the day before Thanksgiving between 3-4 p.m.

To avoid traffic, it is best to hit the road at around 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning.

After celebrating Thanksgiving with the fam, Google suggests getting on the road either Friday morning or Saturday to avoid heavy traffic.

Google also advises avoiding driving to grocery stores, liquor stores or bakery the day before Thanksgiving.
