Everything is bigger in Texas and now the Lone Star State can boast that they are home to America’s largest indoor water park. If you love the thrill of heart racing waterslides and the nostalgia of a good arcade, a trip to Texas should be in your future.
Scheduled to open in Round Rock next fall, Kalahari Resorts Round Rock will feature a 223,000-square-foot indoor water park on 1.5 million square-feet of resort grounds as well as 975 guest rooms and suites, meeting and convention space, four full-service restaurants among several “quick bite” options, retail shopping, a spa, salon, and more.
“We’re excited about the many unique developments in progress at the Round Rock resort…The furnishings, design, art and décor planned for Round Rock are a modern and luxurious evolution of our brand,” Natasha Lucke, a co-owner and interior designer, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, shares with Southern Living.
Additional highlights include Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park with thrill rides, ropes course, climbing walls, an indoor zip line, bowling, laser tag, and mini golf. There will also be an arcade with over 250 games and outdoor pools that take up a total of three acres.
The Round Rock resort marks the company’s first foray into the Southern market and fourth Kalahari Resorts and Conventions location, joining successful properties in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Sandusky, Ohio, and the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania. Since its inception, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is a family-owned and -operated business with a focus on “bringing the best of Africa and a beyond-expectations hospitality experience to all guests”.
“We’re delighted to have Kalahari break ground in Round Rock, Texas,” Mayor Craig Morgan said in a press release “This will be an amazing destination for our citizens, as well as families and convention guests from across the state and across the country.”
