Food. Art. Culture. Music. Fashion. Good Vibes. These are the seven words that sum up one of Ghana’s most Afrocentric festivals.

Inside Accra’s El Wak Sports Stadium, thousands of people from all over the world gathered to celebrate Black culture.

Outside of the main stage were food vendors selling jerk chicken fried rice, plantains, fresh ginger, and freshly-squeeze juices.

Once inside, artists set up interactive exhibitions for festival-goers to admire their artwork and pose for pictures.

This year’s performances featured musical artists Sarkodie, Samini, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, and others across the African diaspora.

Among those in attendance were Nigerian-American musical artist Jidenna, Actor Boris Kodjoe, and Love and Hip-Hop New York’s own Yandy Smith-Harris.

A Fashionable Affair

Aside from the performances, one thing that stood out was the fashion.

Travel Noire spoke to festival attendees to hear more about what inspired their looks.

Erwan from Paris, France said his look was inspired by his parents who are Togolese, Ghanaian, and Senegalese.
