Invest In These 7 Travel Accessories To Save Major Coins In The Long Run

By Kelsey Marie

Traveling can get quite expensive when you factor in the cost of your flight, accommodations, and additional expenses while on vacation. There are, of course, ways to save on travel and one of them is investing in accessories that will save you coins in the future.

These items may not necessarily be cheap when purchasing, but they will save big bucks since you can use them for years to come.

Waterproof Phone Case

Nothing is worse than being on vacation on an island, hitting up the beach, living your best life and then your phone getting destroyed because of water damage. Paying to replace your phone is a hefty expense, but it can be avoided by purchasing a waterproof case.

Power Bank

This is my favorite travel accessory of them all. I like to really invest in a long-lasting power bank because I avoid my phone going dead like the plague — especially when in a foreign country. While traveling, there won’t always be power outlets, so it’s best to always have a power bank or two on hand.

My personal favorite is the Anker PowerCore because it’s reliable, lasts extremely long and will ensure you’re never caught slippin’.

Waze and Google Maps are lifesavers! Waze is awesome if you’re driving when on vacation and Google Maps is my favorite when navigating large cities where walking and taking public transportation is the norm.

Apps like Netflix, Amazon Kindle, Apple Music, and Spotify are great to keep you entertained during long transits or days where you just don’t feel like venturing outside.

Reusable Water Bottle

Think of all the money you spent purchasing water bottles when traveling. If you bring your reusable water bottle with you, you can just refill it instead of constantly paying to stay hydrated. This is especially handy in cities like London or NYC where a bottle of water can be up to $5!

Luggage Scale

Getting to the airport only to find out your luggage is overweight can be a downer, especially when some airlines charge around $100 to let your overweight bags on the plane.

Purchasing a luggage scale helps so you can weigh your bags prior to leaving for the airport. This way, you can avoid any unnecessary expenses.

Laundry Kit

If you’re going on vacation for over 7 days, bringing along a laundry kit will change the game. This way, you can bring fewer things and wash them while abroad. You can find laundry kits on Amazon and it comes with laundry detergent, a sink stopper, clothesline, and laundry bag.

Durable Backpack

Investing in a quality backpack can do wonders for your shoulders and travel experience. When traveling, I love backpacks because I could fit my camera, laptop and other necessities in one compact bag and carry it with ease. They also are great for trekking through big cities or even hiking!
