These Are The 7 Interactive Art Experiences Across The U.S. You Cannot Miss
By Kelsey Marie
I’m a firm believer in art being a gateway to travel. You can learn so much about the history, culture, and people of a city through works of art.
When traveling, I always make it a priority to check out street murals, exhibits, and cafe’s featuring work by local artists.
Some cities have art that allows you to become a part of it. These art installations invite travelers to experience art on another level.
Color Factory – New York, NY
This 12,000-square-foot space has 15 interactive color experiences. Located in SoHo’s Hudson Square neighborhood, Color Factory features “brand-new participatory installations of colors collected around the city — hues that invite curiosity, discovery, and play.”
The Stuart Project – San Diego, CA
Visiting the campus is free and open year-round. The Stuart Project is located at the University of California, San Diego’s campus in La Jolla. The collection includes over a dozen works.
Wonderspaces – Arizona
The Arizona location of Wonderspaces is open from mid-October until March 2020. The touring exhibit also makes appearances in Philadelphia and San Diego throughout the year. Visitors to this exhibit are able to experience art through virtual reality, film, and sound installations.
Museum Of Ice Cream – San Francisco, CA
Visitors can experience art in a sweet way at the Museum of Ice Cream. The museum originally was a pop-up in various cities but has now called San Francisco it’s home permanently. It will also be calling New York it’s permanent home this fall.
The New Children’s Museum – San Diego, CA
This interactive museum has a room with over 40 mattresses and 160 “pillow” tires for both children and adults to play. Visiting Whammock! is a must with its 3-D textile environment and hanging pendulums.
