7 Beaches Around The World That Don’t Get Enough Shine

As you prepare to plan your summer trips and decide on which beaches to hit, maybe consider a beach that isn’t as popular.

Check out this list we’ve compiled of some beaches we feel don’t get the love they deserve.

Praia do Camilo- Lago, Portugal

This gorgeous beach is located in Algarve in Lagos, Portugal. It is a 4-hour bus ride from Lisbon, but worth the trip. As you make your way to the top of the cliff, you can look down into beautiful golden sand and turquoise waters. The rock formations that surround the small beach give it an added flare that will definitely take your pictures to another level.

Lombok, Indonesia

While this isn’t a specific beach, this island doesn’t get enough credit. Most travelers head to Bali when they look to go to Indonesia. However, Lombok is only an island over. This underrated area has some of the most beautiful waters you’ll ever see. There are also several IG-worthy photo spots in places such as the giant overwater swings around the beaches.

Diani Beach- Mombasa, Kenya

This Kenyan beach is located on the south coast of Mombasa. It is only a short 50-minute plane ride from Nairobi. Diani is home to several resorts that easily blow any Caribbean resort out of the water. Around the town, you can find cafes, shops, and local street vendors. It definitely deserves more shine.

Varadero Beach- Varadero, Cuba

While many people do head to Varadero, it still doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. This beautiful beach town is a two-hour drive from Havana. You can hire a car service for only $25 to make the journey or you can take the more adventurous public bus ride for less than half of that. There are lots of cute restaurants and markets in the area, and the prices are insanely cheap.

Sugar Beach- St. Lucia

Many think of St. Lucia as a couple’s island. Or, if they do travel as a single person they head to the northern part of the island. Sugar Beach is located in Soufriere. This area of the island is catered to couples and honeymooners. Anyone, however, can enjoy the town. Sugar beach shares its shore with a private resort, but there is a public section as well. Locals set up shop on the public side, offering handmade crafts, freshly cut fruit plates, and even snorkeling.

West Bay- Roatán, Honduras

This amazingly gorgeous stretch of beach is located on the north coast of Roatán. It provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation while soaking up some sun. This beach is also a great place for diving, so if you want to see great underwater life, this is the place to do so.
