You Can Now Rent A Room In This 300-Year-Old Royal Palace
By Leah Freeman-Haskin
If you’ve ever dreamed of living like royalty, even if only for a few days, now is your chance. The luxuriously styled Gudliya suite is located in The City Palace Jaipur, India, one of the most iconic spots in Jaipur and home to the Royal Family. This palace has seen guests including Princess Diana and Oprah Winfrey over the course of its three-century-old history.
Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh just became the first royal Airbnb host, as he listed the Gudliya Suite on the booking site.
The royal treatment starts as soon as you land at the airport, with a chauffeur-driven car waiting to transport you to the 1727-built palace. A member of the royal staff will also be assigned to escort you on a private shopping tour of Pink City.
All guests receive a complimentary guided tour of the complex conducted by a member of the royal staff who will explain the intricacies of the architecture, art, and décor at the palace.
The suite comes with its own indoor swimming pool, a private butler, authentic Rajasthani meals enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Aravalis, and peaceful daily breakfasts in the company of peacocks who often visit the palace’s gardens.
Accommodations include space for up to two guests and, depending on your travel dates, one night in the suite will cost you around $8,000.
