The staff at Time Out tapped into their community of local editors and experts living in countries around the world to compile a list of the 50 Coolest Neighborhoods you need to visit ASAP.

“We asked more than 27,000 city-dwellers around the world about the best, most overrated and most undervalued neighborhoods in their hometown,” said timeout.com. “Then, armed with their opinions, we went to the experts – Time Out editors and contributing writers who know the city like nobody else – and asked them to pinpoint the one neighborhood in their city with the biggest buzz about it right now.”

Here is their top 5 list of the cultural and culinary hotspots around the world.

1. Arroios, Lisbon for its diversity, urban art scene, and plentiful culinary options.

2. Shimokitazawa, Tokyo is said to be what Brooklyn is to New York, only cooler.

3. Onikan, Lagos is a historic district with fascinating architecture and landscapes.

4. Wedding, Berlin is “dirt cheap and still sexy” according to timeout.com.
