Stay Fit While On Vacation With TSA-Approved Workout Equipment
By Kelsey Marie
How often have you thrown your healthy habits out the window due to travel? I, myself, have done this. I’ll be eating clean for months, working out, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and as a result, my clothes start fitting better. Then I go on vacation in a foreign land, and I neglect the past few months of prioritizing my 10,000 steps per day.
It’s so easy to eat things we wouldn’t normally eat in our daily lives for the sake of treating ourselves during vacation. I’m all too familiar with getting back home and realizing my jeans are a bit snugger than when I left.
Through the years, I’ve learned tips to help me maintain a healthy lifestyle while traveling. One of the tips I learned is that you can stay fit anywhere in the world with the right equipment.
Don’t let a vacation or travel plans deter you from working towards a healthier lifestyle. Here are some TSA-friendly fitness equipment you can use while traveling.
Sometimes we stress over the perfect outfits to pack for our vacation so we can successfully slay the ‘gram and we end up forgetting about packing workout clothes.
Since you’re traveling, packing ultra-wicking workout clothing is necessary so you can sweat in them a few times before they need washing. Nike has amazing options that are highly breathable, lightweight, and ultra-wicking.
Wearing the right sneakers is so important when working out. Exercising in sneakers not suitable for running can cause damage to your body in the long run, so make sure you save room in your luggage for your workout sneakers!
A jump rope can be used anywhere in the world, it’s TSA-friendly, and it takes up literally no room in your luggage.
If you don’t own a jump rope, you can find one for less than $10 at stores like Wal-Mart, Target and TJ Maxx.
Using a jump rope gets your heart rate up while keeping your body toned.
Reusable Water Bottle
You have to stay hydrated while working out and traveling. Packing a reusable water bottle saves you money on constantly having to purchase bottled water.
Reusable water bottles also cut down on plastic waste.
Your Laptop And Phone
I’m pretty sure most of us travel with these items to keep up with your friends and family at home as well as for entertainment. We can also use our laptop and phone to stay consistent with our fitness plans.
There are so many free workout videos on YouTube — all you have to do is find one that suits your needs and you can work out in the comfort of your hotel, Airbnb or hostel.
