A city that receives 20 million visitors every year definitely offers lots of eateries and restaurants. It’s however prudent to choose the very best when you are spending lots of money to visit and stay in this city. The truth is, Venice restaurants are notorious for being extremely expensive. It is also good to choose the restaurants that don’t only offer the best but offer good value for your money.

Trattoria Alla Rampa

Head to: Castello, 1135, 30122 Venezia VE, Italy (Via Garibaldi).

Unfortunately, this restaurant offers only lunch and is normally closed on Sundays. It is located in a working-class neighborhood hence not very costly especially considering it caters mostly to the locals. Here you can have pasta, main course, wine, and coffee. You can also have home styled Venice dishes here.

Osteria Al Portego

Head to: Castello San Lio, 6014, 30122 Venezia, Italy.

The restaurant offers the best cicchetti which you don’t want to leave Venice without sampling. Cichetti are small snacks served in Venice.Osteria Al Portego offers a wide array of cicchetti including zucchini flowers and bread with baccalà (dried salted cod).

Ristorante Dalla Marisa

Head to: Cannaregio, 652, 30171 Venezia, Italy.

The exterior of the building looks quite decrepit and might not really attract you to dine at this place but don’t let it fool you. Its menu changes daily but they offer a good variety of seafood.

Osteria da Alberto

Head to: Calle Giacinto Gallina – Cannaregio, 5401, 30121 Venezia, Italy between Campo San Giovanni e Paolo and the Santa Maria dei Miracoli. They offer authentic Venetian cuisines such as spaghetti and squid ink.

Puppa Bar

Puppa bar offers a very good value for money and is popular with the locals. The joint is located near   WE Crociferi Hostel.

Cantina do Mori

This eatery is perhaps the oldest in Venice at the moment. It is a historic place with just the right atmosphere to enjoy the good food they offer. By Venice’s standards, this eatery is quite cheap. Head to: Polo 429, Venice, Italy.

Al Timon

Head to: Fondamenta Dei Ormesini Cannaregio 2754, 30121 Venice, Italy. It is quite a trendy place hence if you are young, try it out. It offers great ciccheti and big dishes. You can also enjoy a quiet boat ride as you eat here.

Paradiso Perduto

On the same street as Al Timon is the Paradiso Perduto – the forgotten paradise. The place is always packed with locals due to its comparatively lower prices. On Saturday evenings, you’ll be lucky to get a seat.

Al Merca

Merca is the Italian word for market. This joint is near the market. It is located just next to the Rialto bridge so you won’t have much trouble getting to it. They offer amazing cicchetti and wine.

Vino Vero

This is a good place for cicchetti and wine. Head to: Sestiere San Marco, 2007 | Calle Della Veste, 30124 Venice, Italy.
